Michif Minecraft: Voices of the Métis (Part 2) - Co-taught Lesson
Continue your journey into Métis history and culture in Part 2 of this immersive learning series. In this session, students will encounter important Métis historical figures alongside real-life Métis people who are living, contributing, and shaping Métis culture today.

Students will learn about bison hunting and its vital role in Métis life, culture, and survival—exploring how it supported food, tools, trade, and community traditions. Learners will also explore additional buildings and sites around Métis Crossing, deepening their understanding of how place, land, and community are connected in Métis history. 

To bring learning to life, students will participate in a creative build challenge, designing and constructing something that reflects what they have learned about Métis culture, values, and ways of life. This hands-on experience encourages creativity, critical thinking, and respectful cultural understanding while helping students connect historical knowledge to modern perspectives.
