Part 3 – Getting Ready for Game Day – Showcasing Learning Through Data (Educator PD – Grades 5-12)

Bring the Data Dunkers experience to life by preparing students to share their learning, celebrate their discoveries, and present their data-driven insights with confidence. Educators will explore strategies for guiding students through the final stages of their data investigations as they prepare for a culminating showcase experience. 
This session focuses on helping students synthesize their learning, communicate findings effectively, and demonstrate their understanding through presentations, visualizations, and evidence-based recommendations. Educators will learn how to support students in transforming data into compelling stories that highlight both their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
Participants will also explore ways to create engaging showcase opportunities that celebrate student voice, encourage collaboration, and connect classroom learning to authentic audiences. 

During this session, educators will: 

• Explore strategies for preparing students to present their data investigations. 

• Learn how to guide students in organizing and communicating their findings effectively. 

• Develop approaches for supporting data storytelling through charts, graphs, dashboards, and presentations. 

• Examine techniques for facilitating peer feedback, reflection, and revision. 

• Discover ways to create engaging showcase events that celebrate student learning. 

• Explore assessment strategies that evaluate both the process and outcomes of student investigations. 

• Build opportunities for students to connect their findings to real-world applications and decision-making. 

 
By the end of this session, educators will be equipped to help students confidently communicate their findings, defend their conclusions with evidence, and showcase their learning to authentic audiences. Participants will leave with practical strategies for creating memorable culminating experiences that highlight the power of data-driven inquiry and celebrate student achievement.
